The American School in London occupies a large site in the prestigious St Johns Wood conservation area.

Farrer Huxley Associates worked to develop the entire grounds, delivering firstly a solution for a secure school boundary following the attacks of 9/11, by developing a series of ground level tree houses with railings creating safe play space which created a sensitive boundary treatments.

Subsequent to this the upper and lower school playgrounds were also developed.  The school's interest and support for what we were attempting to achieve and their encouragement led to the playground spaces being recognised by CABE as exemplars.
