The park won a BALI National Landscape Award in 2011 for Restoration and Regeneration for the contractor Blakedown Landscapes. The park is entirely playable and has a rich range of planting textures and forms.  The Gardens contain quiet areas to sit, diverse planting for biodiversity, and bespoke play elements including a fun slide and a playable bridge. There is a central open grass area surrounded by low walls and grassy slopes for informal seating, gathering with friends, for playing on, or to host community events.
